The All Progressive Congress Presidential Screening committee says it did not screen former president, Goodluck Jonathan virtually as widely speculated in Various quarters.
Chairman of the committee John Odigie-Oyegun made the clarification after he submitted the report of his seven-member panel to the national chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, at the party’s national secretariat.
He said contrary to the rumors and speculations that the committee screened the former president virtually,the committee didn’t screen Goodluck Jonathan virtually nor did he appear at the screening venue.
The former party chairman noted that ten presidential aspirant did not meet up with the expectations of the party leaving only 13 aspirants shortlisted to jostle for the ticket of the ruling APC.
Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu, commended the Presidential Screening Committee for a well done job as the process has great impact on the faith of the party.
All cleared aspirants are expected to contest the presidential primary at a scheduled special convention in Abuja between June 6 and 8.
