A tanker carrying premium motor spirit (petrol) overturned in the Ibafo area of the Obafemi Owode local government area of Ogun State, along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway, resulting in multiple vehicles being set ablaze.
The incident also left many individuals with varying degrees of injuries.
Reports indicate that the driver of the tanker may have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing him to lose control, which led to the tanker’s overturning and subsequent explosion.
Images shared by Channels TV on Wednesday, October 16, show several buildings with shattered windows, damaged roofs, and cracked walls, along with numerous vehicles that were destroyed in the fire.
