Political parties and their candidates in the 2024 Edo state gubernatorial election have signed a peace accord, pledging their commitment to the terms of the agreement.
The Edo State election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 21.
The signing of the peace accord was disclosed in a post by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday, September 12.
The post reads: “Political parties and gubernatorial candidates signed the peace accord, pledging their commitment to upholding terms of the agreement and ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
“The signing was witnessed by NPC Chairman, General Abdulsalami A. Abubakar, GCFR, INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, CSOs, the Media, and other participants at the event.”
