In a press statement issued byAkoko Conscience Group, it describes how much the youth need to support the good representation it currently has.
The statement reads as follows.
LETS AMPLIFYTHOSE VOICES IN SUPPORT OF DEVELOPMENT.
Let start by appreciating you all for the good and wonderful work you have been doing in raising awareness for good governance in our federal constituency. I am referring to BTO, one that has brought unprecedented developments to our area within the shortest period of time which has now necessitated the need to amplify the VOICES that will give the people the confidence and certainty that what we have witnessed in the last two years is a tip of the iceberg.
Meaningful progress has clearly been made since Rep BTO assumption of office and we see and hear the promises for further progress in the months and years to come. So we must ensure that those goals to turn progress into a framework that will give the people more confident despite the challenges ahead. I therefore say a big thank you to BTO for helping us to skip the DIRTY PHASE of Development in Akoko North East/North West Federal constituency.
Therefore, those VOICES for continuity are not merely for or about BTO but for progress, Development and peace in our society. Truly BTO has shown to the World that progress is possible in all areas of human endeavour.
I know beyond doubt that if we want the very best for our society, 2023 will be a decisive year to toe the path that will lead us to more developments. I am confident to say we are proud of his accomplishments and we celebrate his commitments to our needs.
As we proceed on this journey to a better future, we must realise that we can’t afford anybody on the sidelines, so we should all be committed in this cause because developments is a collective responsibility of all of us. We can’t afford hopelessness, instead we will have to master the will and the passion and the activism of the citizens declaring our support for developments that is inclusive. We need to make this happen as citizens regardless of the challenges and obstacles ahead of us.
We must encourage people to turn their passion to vote for BTO because that is the kind of commitments we are going to need going forward. The only way we can work together to get a big thing done is by participation. Gaining the majority that is needed to elect a good representative requires citizens that are willing to get involved in promoting the positive developmental strides that are evident in BTO’s performance. It also entails rooting for a rare politician who takes our challenges seriously and this can be said of BTO, because his commitments to those issues is never in doubts.
Development as I understand, is not a partisan issue, it doesn’t care about party affiliation and what is true in our federal constituency is also true anywhere in the world. I believe together, we have what it takes to sustain this progress. Let turn this to anxiety and do something constructive with it come 2023. If we want to safe our lives and our future, then we must do it ourselves.
We must educate people in every nooks and crannies by pointing fingers to those developmental Strides going on everywhere across our federal constituency so that we may lead them to have a rethink or at least be open minded. That is the power you have, and you have to use it.
To build a broadbase coalition for bold action, we have to persuade people who either don’t currently agree with us, or are indifferent to the issue and to change the mind of those fellow citizens in our respective communities, we have to do a little more listening like most of us are currently doing. We can’t just yell at them or say they are ignorant, its not enough to ignore them, we have to listen to their objections and find ways to reconcile and work with them in the interest of all.
Getting this done is going to be hard but the good news is that humanity has done hard things before , so I believe we can do hard things again. The process will be tedious, we will face setbacks, I guarantee you, if we stay with it, we will get things done with the support of the people and grace from above.
