The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje and the National Working Committee have approved the composition of sub-committees to steer the party’s efforts toward securing victory at the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State.

The Ondo governorship election is slated to be held on November 16.

In the list signed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, on Monday, the former Governor of Osun State, Bisi Akande, chairs the Elders Committee.

The former Ondo governorship aspirant, Pius Akinyelure, would assist the University of Ibadan Governing Council chairman.

In the category of Finance Committee, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State was appointed as the Chairman, with Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio as his deputy.

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni heads the Media and Publicity Committee, with the current Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed, as his Deputy Chairman.

In the area of security, Borno Governor Babagana Zulum was made the chairman, while his counterpart from Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, emerged as his deputy.

The terse statement partly read, “The National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in consultation with the National Working Committee, has approved the composition of the Ondo state Gubernatorial National Campaign Council.

“The inauguration of the Ondo State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council will be held at the International Event Centre (The Dome) in Akure, Ondo State on October 28.”

PUNCH Online reports that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Campaign Council constituted by the ruling All Progressives Congress to steer the party’s efforts toward securing victory at the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State.

He would be assisted by former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (Secretary) and other APC bigwigs like Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, his counterpart in Kebbi, Nasir Idris; Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
