The court adjourned after sitting briefly this morning.

The Court had yesterday ordered that the release of his wife, Ropo while Igboho be remanded in the custody of Brigade Criminelle in Cotonou pending the submission of charges by the Nigerian Government.

It was gathered that Igboho and his wife, Ropo, were arrested at the Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou on Monday while trying to catch a flight to Germany.

PRODUCE DETAINED IGBOHO’S AIDES IN COURT —DSS DIRECTED

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja today ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to produce before or on next week Thursday, associates of the Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho arrested during a raid in his house recently.

Justice Obirora Egwuatu gave the order today while ruling on an ex-parte application argued by lawyer to the 12 detained agitators, Mr Pelumi Olajengbesi.

The lawyer had told the court that the 12 Igboho’s aides were arrested during DSS’ raid on his house in Ibadan on July 2 and have been kept incommunicado since then.

Justice Egwuatu, also ordered the DSS to show cause why the twelve detainees should not be released on either conditional or unconditional bail.

He ordered that in view of the urgency involved in the case, further hearing in the fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by the detainees, shall be heard during the court’s vacation and adjourned sitting next thursday.
