Kwara state governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has congratulated Nazmat Surajudeen-Bakinde, a Nigerian professor who was newly appointed as Vice Chancellor of the University of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (USET) in the Gambia.
According to the governor, Surajudeen-Bakinde, who is the immediate past President of Offa Engineers outstanding successes and strides in leadership positions do not come as a surprise, given the positive reviews she has received in the academic community over the years.
Abdulrazaq’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Tuesday, September 24.
The statement reads: “Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq sends his congratulations to Prof. Nazmat Surajudeen-Bakinde over her appointment as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (USET) in the Gambia.
“The appointment is another testimony to the power of education, hard work, commitment, and integrity, and another reason that everyone, including the girl child, deserves a fair chance to have good education, the Governor says.
” ‘Her outstanding successes and strides in leadership positions do not come as a surprise, given the positive reviews she has received in the academics community over the years, including as the immediate past President of Offa Engineers’, according to the Governor.
“Governor Abdulrazaq wishes the Offa-born Professor of electrical and electronics engineering a successful tenure as the USET’s new leader in the Gambia.”
