Residents of Kaduna State have been seen expressing joy and excitements on the streets when power was finally restored to their town.
In a now viral video shared via X on Thursday, October 31, the residents could be heard chanting “Nepa, Nepa tadawo” in Hausa, celebrity over the return of electricity.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Wednesday disclosed that power had partially been restored to seven northern States that had experienced significant outages due to the vandalisation of the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line.
The vandalisation affected power distribution, leaving Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, and Gombe in darkness for nine days.
