67th Grammy: Beyoncé makes history as first black woman to win ‘Best Country Album

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, popularly known as Beyoncé, has clinched 11 nominations, winning two awards at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

She also made history by becoming the first Black woman to win the Best Country Album award for Cowboy Carter.

In a historic moment, Taylor Swift presented the award to Beyoncé, creating a milestone not only for the superstar but also for the country music genre.

Beyoncé, already the most-awarded Grammy artist of all time—a title she claimed in 2023 with ‘Renaissance’—extended her legendary record on Sunday night.

With two more wins at the 2025 ceremony, her Grammy total now stands at a remarkable 34.

Beyoncé was visibly emotional as she accepted the award, expressing her gratitude and shock.

Accepting the award, she said: “Wow, I really was not expecting this. Wow, I wanna thank God — Oh my God! — that I’m able to still do what I love after so many years Oh my God!

“I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this album. We worked so hard on it. I think sometimes genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists, and I just want to encourage people to do what they’re passionate about, and to stay persistent.

“Wow, I’d like to thank my beautiful family, all of the artists that were collaborators… thank you! This wouldn’t have been this album without you. I’d like to thank God again and my fans, and I still am in shock. So thank you so much for this honour.”
